Zahara to sue True Love magazine for R3 million – report

Loliwe hitmaker Zahara is reportedly looking into suing True Love magazine for R3 million in damages over its January cover, which the singer has labelled “tasteless” and “misleading.”

According to Sowetan, Zahara plans to go full steam ahead with her lawsuit against the publication for associating her name with drugs on its latest cover.

The songstress apparently confirmed to the publication that she would be suing for reputational damage for an amount of R3 million.

“I was paging through the file yesterday and she is suing for defamation of character. Our office was closed for the festive season and we will be opening next Monday and that is when the matter will be taken forth with True Love being contacted,” a member of Zahara’s legal team apparently told the paper.

In December Zahara took to social media to lambaste True Love over its latest cover, which she is featured on. The songstress was left fuming after its cover line associated her name with drugs.

“Zahara: marriage, drugs and selling records,” reads the cover line.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE at the time, an infuriated Zahara called for every copy of the magazine to be recalled.

“If they don’t recall this cover today, I will be left with no choice but to take legal action against them. I’m going out this morning to look for magazines and if I find them, I will sue,” she said at the time.

Zahara also vented her anger on social media. “I honestly hope this is a sick joke from @truelovemagazine, how dare they put this type of headline on their cover! Why associate me with drugs?? This is an utterly tasteless and misleading caption!” she said.

True Love has not yet made any comment on the matter and is unavailable for comment.

DJ Black Coffee and Enhle are officially married!

Ahead of their glitzy white wedding reception this weekend, DJ Black Coffee and actress Enhle Mbali have officially tied the knot.

The pair surprised many, including their friend Oskido, when they decided to legally register their union at their home on Thursday evening.

Luckily for us, Oskido was present at the ceremony and recorded a short video after the ceremony.

It wasn’t a very formal affair, with Black Coffee wearing a smart shirt and Enhle wearing a cream suit with a veil on her head.

Oskido couldn’t help but gush over the pair, wishing them a happy union.

“I witness a union of two beautiful spirits. May your hearts be always near both in good and bad times, may you always hold on to each other with trust and faith. Wishing you a blissfully married life! You are now one. Congrats,” he wrote.

The pair will celebrate their union with a white wedding at Sun City on Sunday January 8.

TshisaLIVE understands that the wedding has been planned by actress-turned-wedding planner Sophie Ndaba and security is expected to be tight for the event.

The couple got engaged in 2010 and in 2011 had a traditional wedding in Soweto.

They have two children together.
