Vuyokazi Nciweni Opens Up About Single Motherhood

Vuyokazi Nciweni, former Izingane Zes’thembu star, is navigating the challenges of single motherhood with strength and gratitude.

A proud mom to two children, Vuyokazi shared in an interview with Baby Yum Yum how her parents and aunt have become her greatest support system, helping her provide stability for her kids.

She revealed that Mpumelelo Mseleku, the father of her children and son of businessman Musa Mseleku, plays no role in their lives. “There’s no co-parenting, no allowance, no involvement. It’s just me and my parents raising my kids. Their love gives my kids so much stability,” she shared.

Vuyokazi also reflected on her short-lived and tumultuous marriage to celebrity chef Xolani Sabelo, which ended in public controversy. She admitted that the experience was a wake-up call and has since become more cautious about who she allows into her and her children’s lives.

“My kids have nothing to do with my love life, and no man will come near them. My parents don’t want any man around my kids unless it’s a husband one day. Last year, I made a bad choice and learned my lesson. My priority is protecting my children,” she said.

Her journey has inspired many women, including those in toxic marriages, to find the courage to leave unhealthy relationships. Vuyokazi offered advice to other mothers, encouraging them to prioritise their mental health and their children’s well-being: “Don’t stay in relationships that break you mentally. Take your kids and leave.”
