Fans of the Mseleku family will have more reality television drama to look forward to this festive season, with Uthando Nesthembu: Uncut set to return with new episodes.

Entertainment commentator Kgopolo Phil Mphela shared the news on X on 27 October 2026, announcing the return of the special following its successful run last year. The announcement comes as the Uthando Nesthembu franchise continues to draw viewers with its coverage of the family’s relationships and challenges.

The special offers a closer look at Musa Mseleku’s polygamous household, featuring conversations and footage that were not included in the regular episodes. The previous Uncut special explored tensions within the family following the introduction of his fifth wife, MaKhwela, and the challenges facing the household.

Musa’s wives, MaCele, MaYeni, MaNgwabe and MaKhumalo, have all featured in the family’s ongoing story. The addition of MaKhwela brought further changes to the household, with questions surrounding the relationships between the wives and Musa becoming a central part of the show’s storyline.

According to the Cape Times, the previous Uncut special premiered in December 2025, giving viewers access to previously unseen footage from the eighth season. The episodes explored tensions between family members, private conversations and unresolved disagreements.

The franchise has continued to attract significant audiences. In February 2026, DStv confirmed the return of Uthando Nesthembu for its ninth season on Mzansi Magic, with new episodes airing on Wednesdays and Thursdays. DStv also reported that the eighth season attracted 2.8 million viewers per episode and generated more than one billion social media impressions.
