Katlego Danke Returns to TV With a New Acting Role!
There is something special about seeing a familiar face return to our television screens, especially when it is an actress whose career has given us so many memorable characters. Katlego Danke is the latest addition to e.tv’s Isitha: The Enemy, and she is stepping into a storyline that promises plenty of drama.
The award-winning actress has joined the popular drama series as Keabetswe, the wife of Mapholoba. While details about her character’s storyline are still under wraps, her arrival is already creating excitement among viewers. Given Mapholoba’s complicated world, we can only imagine the twists and turns that await as Keabetswe becomes part of the story.
The show’s official social media platforms welcomed the actress with an announcement, writing: “Ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the incredible Katlego Danke! Joining #IsithaTheEnemy as Keabetswe, Mapholoba’s wife!”
For Katlego, this is another exciting addition to an acting career that spans more than two decades. She first made her mark on television in 2002 when she joined e.tv’s youth drama Backstage, playing Keketso Chaka. The role introduced audiences to her talent and paved the way for more opportunities in the entertainment industry.
In 2006, she joined one of South Africa’s most recognised soap operas, Generations, where she portrayed Dineo Mashaba. Her character became one of the familiar faces on the show, and her performance earned her the 2010 South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best Actress in a TV Soap.
Following her departure from Generations, Katlego continued to explore different characters and productions. In 2016, she joined the SABC3 soap opera Isidingo in a recurring role as Kgothalo Letsoalo, further cementing her place in South African television.
She later landed another leading role in Mzansi Magic’s hit telenovela Gomora, where she played Thati Molefe-Ndaba. The character allowed audiences to see another side of her acting range as she navigated the complicated relationships and challenges that came with life in Gomora.
Her television credits also include Netflix’s GO!, in which she appeared as Mrs Khumalo, and the 2024 Showmax film The Butcher’s Soul, where she played Emma.
Beyond acting, Katlego has also built a presence as a presenter, radio DJ and brand ambassador, working with several established brands over the years.
With Keabetswe now entering the world of Isitha: The Enemy, viewers have another reason to look forward to seeing what unfolds. And if Katlego’s impressive television history is anything to go by, she certainly knows how to make a character memorable.
