Makhadzi Speaks Out After Botswana Legal Drama, Confirms Album Delay And Limpopo Show
After days of uncertainty in Botswana, Makhadzi is turning her attention back to music and her fans, with the singer confirming that her travel documents have been returned and announcing a new date for her upcoming album.
The Limpopo-born star’s management, Makhadzi Entertainment, released a statement on Wednesday, 4 November, confirming that she had regained her travel documents following urgent court proceedings and diplomatic engagements between the governments of South Africa and Botswana, with assistance from the Limpopo Provincial Government.
The development follows a legal dispute involving Botswana promoter Gilbert “PP Wa Pimp” Seagile of Gilbert Promotions. The disagreement centred on a proposed One Woman Show in Botswana, which was scheduled for 12 September 2026.
According to reports by TimesLIVE and The South African, the promoter alleged that he had suffered financial losses over the proposed event. Makhadzi’s representatives, however, maintained that she was never formally booked for the show and had not received payment for the proposed performance. The parties subsequently reached an agreement in court, allowing the singer to return home. The full terms of the settlement have not been made public.
In her statement, Makhadzi expressed gratitude to the South African and Botswana governments, the Limpopo provincial leadership, her legal team and her Botswana fans for their support during the ordeal.
ALBUM RELEASE POSTPONED
While the return of her travel documents brings some relief, fans will have to wait a little longer for her new music.
Makhadzi confirmed that her highly anticipated album, initially scheduled for release on 13 November, has been postponed to 27 November 2026.
The singer apologised for the change and thanked her supporters for their patience and continued understanding. The delay follows an unexpected disruption to her professional commitments while she was in Botswana.
HER LIMPОPO ONE WOMAN SHOW IS STILL ON
Despite the setback, Makhadzi’s festive-season plans remain firmly on track.
The musician has confirmed that her Makhadzi One Woman Show will go ahead on 24 December 2026 at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
She has invited fans from across the country, particularly those in Limpopo, to join her for what she hopes will be a memorable Christmas Eve celebration.
With her travel documents returned, a new album date announced and her major homecoming concert still on the calendar, Makhadzi appears ready to put the difficult few days behind her and get back to what she does best.
