Mama Joy Brings the Laughter with Gayton McKenzie and Danny Jordaan
In a lighthearted video, South Africa’s beloved superfan, Mama Joy, was spotted having a great time with Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, and SAFA president, Danny Jordaan.
The playful dynamic between the trio had everyone in stitches, especially when Gayton jokingly asked for a share of Mama Joy’s husband’s lobola money. Danny chimed in on the humorous request, but unfortunately, the video was cut short.
This recent meet-up comes after Gayton made headlines for terminating all superfan trips funded by taxpayers’ money. In July 2024, he announced that the ministry would no longer cover these expenses, redirecting funds to support struggling athletes and artists instead. The decision sparked mixed reactions, with some applauding the move and others expressing their disappointment.
Mama Joy, however, hasn’t let this setback slow her down. She’s been busy securing paid gigs, including a recent event with SPAR, where she presented an award at the SPAR Awards. Her fans have been supportive of her new endeavors, wishing her continued success.

Another person replied, “This whole time, he has not paid your lobola money yet?”
