Last Updated: July 30, 2026By

Success in the entertainment industry doesn’t always mean putting education on hold. While juggling demanding filming schedules, television appearances, and business ventures, a number of South African actors and presenters have also committed to earning university qualifications. Their achievements prove that lifelong learning and career success can go hand in hand, inspiring others to invest in their education regardless of where they are in life.

Here are five well-known SA actors and presenters who decided to add degrees to their CVs while still filming, hosting, and running businesses:

5. Anande Kuse – From Nyanga To Film Grad

Who she is: Actress and stunt performer. You’ll see her in the upcoming Hollywood film Children of Blood and Bone.

What she studied: Advanced Diploma in Film Production from Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She graduated during CPUT’s autumn ceremonies in 2026.

The moment: Anande balanced sport, film, and school. She also represented SA in table tennis while studying. “The experience was fun, and as a film student, I learned a lot”

This list proves something, fame doesn’t mean you stop learning. Between auditions, shoots, radio shows, and family, you can still make time for textbooks.

It’s giving “growth is intentional”.

If they can juggle sets and seminars, what’s stopping us from going back for that one qualification or getting more?
